If you were a teacher,

Hey Mum 😉 😃

How would you make your classes innovative and interactive?

When I was in high school and we were in business class, our teacher asked us if we were understanding what he was teaching us, but I think the majority of us did not get it, so he mentioned he would explain the concept to us in Kiswahili, and we actually got it. Another time, he told us that because we were in class after lunch, with it being a double lesson, and with our full bellies, our concentration was clearly not optimal, so he told us to go outside and find some shade, and he taught us from outside. This was quite refreshing for me, and it removed the monotony of being in class the whole day. This made learning much more exciting and interactive. Another one I recall distinctly was our chemistry teacher, who used to make use of breaks during class that we referred to as commercial breaks. I guess he saw that we needed them after calculating moles and chemical equations, some of which we couldn’t even comprehend, but during commercial breaks we used to talk about different topics such as what was going on in school, what occurred during the math contest, and so on. He would then use that opportunity to give us life advice. Looking back, I honestly enjoyed these classes and learning. This are some of the top examples that just came to mind

I am curious, how was school for you?
